Life's a Peach // TooFaced Just Peachy Mattes Palette Review

Don't worry, I am still alive! I've been a bit quiet on the blogging front recently because I've had all my end-of-term assessments at drama school so I've had to focus on those for the last couple of weeks, but I'm back baby! I think they all went pretty well (well enough to get me into second year at least anyway) and I'm now back home in sunny Suffolk for the rest of the summer! I thought I'd start back with a review that I've been meaning to do for about a month now and I think this product is going to be perfect for summer!
TooFaced launched this palette as a part of their Peaches and Cream collection - it's been available in the US for absolutely ages and I have been lusting after this particular palette since I first saw it (I could have quite easily bought the whole collection but alas as a poor student I couldn't really justify it) Luckily, they launched in the UK about a month or so ago and I was able to get my hands on it pretty much straight away. It retails for £33 and contains 12 matte eyeshadows all infused with peach and sweet fig milk. Like most of TooFaced's products, there is a scent to it (it really does smell like peaches) which I thought might put me off but it's not too overpowering! All the shades are very buttery which makes them really easy to blend out and although they're all inspired by peaches and cream, there's enough of a variety in there to be able to create a lot of different looks. I've created looks using it by itself and I'm really pleased with it!
So as I said before, in this palette you get 12 matte eyeshadows:

  • Peach Meringue - a pale cream colour which is great for a browbone highlight shade or for setting eyeshadow primer.
  • Peach Tea - a soft tan brown colour.
  • Peach Cobbler - a slightly darker, warmer brown with more of a rusty hue to it.
  • Peach Tart - a rich, warm, dark brown shade.
  • Peach Butter - a very pale pink shade.
  • Just Peachy - a darker, peachy pink shade.
  • Peach Punch - a warm, dark pink colour.
  • Just Ripe - a very dark and rich brownish purple shade.
  • Peaches and Cream - somewhere in the middle of Peach Butter and Just Peachy, with more orangey undertones. This one has been my go-to transition colour!
  • Fresh-Picked - quite similar to Peach Cobbler but with a cooler undertone and it's slightly lighter.
  • Peach Sangria - my favourite! A really stunning dark fuschia colour.
  • Chocolate Dipped - as the name suggests, a beautiful chocolatey brown shade.

Urban Decay Vice Lipstick "Morning After" Review

Urban Decay Vice Lipstick in "Morning After" *New favourite lipstick alert*  This lipstick is seriously giving me life right now! I bought it a couple of weeks ago and since then I've been constantly reaching for it. It's part of the Vice lipsticks collection from Urban Decay, which comes in 100 different shades and 6 different finishes (Comfort Matte, Cream, Metallized, Sheer, Sheer Shimmer and Mega Matte) and they're priced at £15. This one is from the Sheer range, it's a light nude shade that's more on the pink side. What I really love about is how buildable it is in terms of colour; one coat and you just get that really subtle, pink sheen to your lips or you can build it up into a super-glossy pink look! The only bad thing I can say about it is that they haven't made this shade in the matte finish because it would be so perf! (I think the closest you'll get in this finish is "Backtalk")

The Cherry On Top // Urban Decay Naked Cherry Palette Review

Wow I'm actually sitting down to review something that isn't a Birchbox 😂 I've been meaning to write this post since October when I got this palette, but as usual school and other life stuff have meant it's taken until now to do! RRP £42 This palette originally launched in September as a new instalment of Urban Decay's Naked series. I was really excited by it, as it's very different to all of the other Naked palettes out there and I'm a sucker for anything remotely pink-toned. It retails for £42, making it one of the more expensive palettes in the Naked series, and inside are 12 beautiful berry-toned shades: Hot Spot - a matte ivory shade. I always use these for setting my eyeshadow primer and as a browbone highlight shade. Caution - a neutral matte beige. Bang Bang - a pink shimmer. Feelz - a dusty rose matte shade. Juicy - a peachy pink matte. This is a great transition shade. Turn On - a gorgeous rose-gold metallic shade. Ambitio...

Why I Came Off The Pill // Honesty Time

I wasn't 100% sure if I was going to write about coming off The Pill or not. I personally think that a lot of people, especially women, feel that they can't talk about contraception and the effects it has openly. I recently read a blog by Alex Jones (her Instagram account is @alexgracejones if you'd like to have a look) which pretty much convinced me to write this. As Alex says in her blog, contraception is a conversation I've had with friends so many times, and yet outside of those circles, you don't really hear anyone speak about it. Personally, as a woman, I've always felt it's pretty much been up to me to make sure I don't get pregnant, whether that's taking hormonal contraception or using a condom. It seems odd to me then, that there aren't many women out there talking openly about their contraception, so I think it's time we changed this! I originally went on The Pill when I was 17 because my periods were really irregular and very h...
