Birchbox Goodies // April 2019

I'm writing this having just watched the latest Game of Thrones episode so bear with - I'm a bit emotionally fragile right now! (If you haven't seen it yet you are in for 90 minutes of OH MY CHRIST)

A little bit late with this month's Birchbox post; I've started back at school again so it's been a little bit crazy but I figured I'd get this out while I've still got 2 days of the month left! This month's box is inspired by the healing power of crystals and enhancing your natural glow from within. Now, I don't really believe in crystal healing but I am all about that inner glow (plus they're beautiful to look at) so I was pretty excited by this box design! This month, I received a Benefit POREfessional primer, an ESTATE highlighter, an eye mask from Vitamasques, a Human+Kind moisturiser and an eye cream from Balance Me.

ESTATE Cosmetics Dew Me Baked Highlighter in "Afterglow"

RRP £10
Ok, so I wasn't really looking forward to this product (it was one of the ones we could choose ourselves) as both colours didn't look like they were going to suit me - we had a choice between this one and a more yellow/gold colour. I am really glad I went for this one though, as it's actually really nice! It looks quite purple in the pan, but on the skin it's a really nice icey pink shade which looks great on paler skin tones!
Would I buy it again? £10 for a big pan and a gorgeous shade? Yes hun!

Benefit Cosmetics The POREfessional Primer

RRP £28
Ugh I was soooooo disappointed to see this primer in my box this month! It's honestly one of my least favourite primers I've ever used. I don't know why I don't get on with it, I think probably because I have a dryer skin type and maybe I've never found the right foundation to wear it with. It just pills so badly under my make up and looks awful! I did re-test it with my mineral foundation and that seemed to work a lot better, I just can't see myself using this at all to be honest.
Would I buy again? Big fat NOPE

Vitamasques Diamond Eye Pads

RRP £4.99
I think it's safe to say I really don't see the hype around eye masks. I've tried a few through Birchbox now and I really don't think they make any difference to my under eye area. Don't get me wrong, these are mega cute, but I just don't see the justification in so much packaging for two masks that are done with in about 10 minutes and don't do anything. I'd rather save my money and buy myself a nice cream instead!
Would I buy again? No, but it's nothing personal against this brand.

Human+Kind Body Souffle

RRP £16.45
This was definitely a winner in my books - it smells absolutely delicious and it does a fantastic job on dry skin. Because it's quite heavily scented, I can't use it anywhere except my arms because of my eczema, but it's worked brilliantly on the dry skin I have!
Would I buy again? Yes!

Balance Me Wonder Eye Cream

RRP £20
This is definitely my favourite product in this month's box! I'm a bit sceptical when it comes to eye creams but this does an absolutely fantastic job - I've been using it in the mornings and I have to say I definitely have noticed that my dark circles don't seem so bad. It's left my skin feeling so lovely and it works really well under concealer which is great!
Would I buy again? Hell yeah!

I hope you enjoyed this month's post (sorry it was so late!) If you'd like to sign up for your own Birchbox, you can use my link https://www.birchbox.co.uk/invite/BobbisBubble for £5 off your first box! 💕

Urban Decay Vice Lipstick "Morning After" Review

Urban Decay Vice Lipstick in "Morning After" *New favourite lipstick alert*  This lipstick is seriously giving me life right now! I bought it a couple of weeks ago and since then I've been constantly reaching for it. It's part of the Vice lipsticks collection from Urban Decay, which comes in 100 different shades and 6 different finishes (Comfort Matte, Cream, Metallized, Sheer, Sheer Shimmer and Mega Matte) and they're priced at £15. This one is from the Sheer range, it's a light nude shade that's more on the pink side. What I really love about is how buildable it is in terms of colour; one coat and you just get that really subtle, pink sheen to your lips or you can build it up into a super-glossy pink look! The only bad thing I can say about it is that they haven't made this shade in the matte finish because it would be so perf! (I think the closest you'll get in this finish is "Backtalk")

The Cherry On Top // Urban Decay Naked Cherry Palette Review

Wow I'm actually sitting down to review something that isn't a Birchbox 😂 I've been meaning to write this post since October when I got this palette, but as usual school and other life stuff have meant it's taken until now to do! RRP £42 This palette originally launched in September as a new instalment of Urban Decay's Naked series. I was really excited by it, as it's very different to all of the other Naked palettes out there and I'm a sucker for anything remotely pink-toned. It retails for £42, making it one of the more expensive palettes in the Naked series, and inside are 12 beautiful berry-toned shades: Hot Spot - a matte ivory shade. I always use these for setting my eyeshadow primer and as a browbone highlight shade. Caution - a neutral matte beige. Bang Bang - a pink shimmer. Feelz - a dusty rose matte shade. Juicy - a peachy pink matte. This is a great transition shade. Turn On - a gorgeous rose-gold metallic shade. Ambitio...

Why I Came Off The Pill // Honesty Time

I wasn't 100% sure if I was going to write about coming off The Pill or not. I personally think that a lot of people, especially women, feel that they can't talk about contraception and the effects it has openly. I recently read a blog by Alex Jones (her Instagram account is @alexgracejones if you'd like to have a look) which pretty much convinced me to write this. As Alex says in her blog, contraception is a conversation I've had with friends so many times, and yet outside of those circles, you don't really hear anyone speak about it. Personally, as a woman, I've always felt it's pretty much been up to me to make sure I don't get pregnant, whether that's taking hormonal contraception or using a condom. It seems odd to me then, that there aren't many women out there talking openly about their contraception, so I think it's time we changed this! I originally went on The Pill when I was 17 because my periods were really irregular and very h...
