It's September, so that means it's officially ok to start feeling autumnal (even if our summer weather had other ideas). It feels a little late to be reviewing a product that I've been using loads over the summer, but to be honest I can see myself using this a hell of a lot more than that!
I originally bought this back in March - I always use a tinted moisturiser if I'm wearing make-up for uni as the air con in the studios can be quite harsh on my skin, so when I ran out of my last tinted moisturiser, this was the one I chose to replace it.
I've never actually used anything from NARS before, so I wasn't really sure what to expect. I've heard really good things about most of their foundations and this one came up pretty highly rated when I was searching for a replacement. It retails for £31, and for that price you get 50ml of product, which definitely makes it on the more expensive side. However, you do only need a small amount and since it's supposed to be more of a lightweight formula, I won't be layering it up at all so I can see this lasting me for absolutely ages. It also has a slight citrusy scent to it, although that's not something that really bothers me and I don't think it's too strong a smell either.
I have really loved using this product over the summer - I tend to prefer a lighter coverage in the summer months and this gives a nice coverage without having to use loads of product. This also has SPF 30 which means I've got a little bit of extra protection from the sun. It gives a really nice subtle glow without making the skin look greasy which is something I've definitely found with other tinted moisturisers I've used. I do find it works best if I use a little setting powder on my T-zone as that's typically where I get a bit shiny, but I absolutely love the finish! It's also perfect for those no-makeup make-up days! I've found the best way to apply it is with quite a dense foundation brush and then I just go over it with a make-up sponge to blend it out a bit more.
My only criticism for this product is probably the price (I haven't tried any cheaper tinted moisturisers so it would be interesting to see whether they measure up) and the fact that it comes in a plastic tube, rather than a glass bottle like the rest of the NARS foundations. You can buy plastic pumps separately to the other foundation bottles which are obviously great in terms of reducing plastic waste, so I'm not really sure why they've gone with different packaging for this product, but hopefully, they may change it!
