Why I'm Not Making a New Year's Resolution

Ok, I lied, I still have one more blog post left in me for 2018! I wasn't originally going to make this a blog, but I figured putting all this into an Instagram caption is a bit long-winded and I've found with topics like this it's quite therapeutic to write my thoughts out on here! Another year has flown by and pretty soon we'll all be seeing the "New Year, New Me" posts as people inevitably set goals for themselves for 2019 and start using that gym membership they've finally signed up for. Which is great. It's good to set yourself targets and a new year is a perfectly good reason for doing so. Usually, I'd be one of those people but this year I've decided I'm not making any resolutions.  That's not to say I haven't got goals or things I'd like to achieve in 2019. This year has been pretty up and down, both in terms of my mental health and with drama school. There are some really great memories in there too, and though I ...

Why I Came Off The Pill // Honesty Time

I wasn't 100% sure if I was going to write about coming off The Pill or not. I personally think that a lot of people, especially women, feel that they can't talk about contraception and the effects it has openly. I recently read a blog by Alex Jones (her Instagram account is @alexgracejones if you'd like to have a look) which pretty much convinced me to write this. As Alex says in her blog, contraception is a conversation I've had with friends so many times, and yet outside of those circles, you don't really hear anyone speak about it. Personally, as a woman, I've always felt it's pretty much been up to me to make sure I don't get pregnant, whether that's taking hormonal contraception or using a condom. It seems odd to me then, that there aren't many women out there talking openly about their contraception, so I think it's time we changed this! I originally went on The Pill when I was 17 because my periods were really irregular and very h...

Same Me, But Better // My Goals for 2018

Wow, I can't believe I'm sat here writing my first blog post of 2018; I feel like Christmas absolutely flew by! I also can't believe I've managed to haul my arse out of bed to come and sit in front of a computer and write this, given my extremely delicate and fragile state after a few too many glasses (bottles) of prosecco were consumed last night! Start as you mean to go on and all that jazz!

Confessions Of A Perfectionist // Honesty Time

So I haven't really been posting much lately, and that's pretty much down to just not having the time with all my work for drama school, and also not really having the spare cash to go out and buy new make up/hair products to review very regularly #studentproblems However I wanted to write this post because recently I have been really struggling. I think it's fair to say I'm a perfectionist and I tend to put a lot of pressure on myself to achieve things to the best of my abilities. Now, that's not necessarily a bad thing, I think it's really important to push and challenge yourself and to strive to better yourself, especially with things you're passionate about. However, it does manifest itself in me getting very stressed about things when they're not going according to plan. I like to be in control of all aspects of my life (lol at me trying to make a career out of being an actor) and I find it quite hard to deal with things when they're not ...
