Birchbox Goodies // June 2017

So Birchbox are changing things up a little bit this month and instead of a box I received a BirchBAG - this month is inspired by daytripping and the beautiful pastel candy stripes on this bag reminds me so much of the British seaside! I have been looking for a new make up bag so this is pretty perfect for me! This month I received a MeechNMia Brow Liner pencil, an Arrow waterproof eyeliner, a full-sized Cowshed Cow Pat Hand Cream, a sample of the Coconut Mango body scrub from Scrub Love and a Korres Milk Proteins 3-in-1 Cleansing Emulsion!

MeechNMia Brow Liner in #22

I was very skeptical about this brow liner, mostly because this brand has zero pictures on their Instagram - I find I'm more likely to trust brands if they have more of an online presence and are actively showcasing their other products. It just gives me a better idea of the brand itself and what kind of market they tend to go for. However, the formula of this pencil was really nice, it was super soft and very easy to get a defined brow while using it. Unfortunately the shade I was sent was way too dark for me so I definitely won't be using it. The colour I got is the second lightest, which is normally about right for me but there is just too much red undertone in it and it's completely the wrong shade!

Arrow Enhance Waterproof Eyeliner in "Bright Now"

I've been wanting to try a white eyeliner for quite a while now - I love the wide-awake effect they give your eyes if you line your waterline with them and so I was pretty excited to get this product in my box! It's a really pretty pink colour so it's maybe not quite as harsh as a white pencil would be. It's also super creamy so it applied really easily. I have to say, it didn't last as long as I would have expected a waterproof liner to - I often find if I line my waterline with a normal pencil it does rub off really easily so I was a bit disappointed it didn't stay put!

Cowshed Cow Pat Hand Cream

I've already tried Cowshed products before and they are honestly one of my favourite brands for lotions - all of their stuff is really creamy and hydrating and this hand cream is no exception! My hands feel so smooth after using this; I usually put it on in the mornings and I don't really feel the need to re-apply as it lasts so long. It also smells absolutely amazing without loads of harsh fragrances that I find usually makes my dry skin even worse!

Scrub Love Coconut Mango Body Scrub

So I was pretty excited to try this one. I've started using fake tan recently and I normally use an exfoliating glove beforehand to get rid of any dead skin cells, but I do find that this irritates my skin quite a lot, so I was looking forward to using something that would also moisturise as it buffed away the dead skin. Honestly, my skin felt amazing after using this and it smelled beautiful but the mess this product makes is unreal! I'm so glad I followed the instructions and did it in the bath because otherwise I would have had a LOT of cleaning up to do. I swear more product went in the bath than actually stayed on my skin and I can't help but think that although the end result was good, it would be a lot less hassle to just use an exfoliating body wash!

Korres Milk Proteins 3-in-1 Cleansing Emulsion

I will put my hands up and admit that I don't really take make-up removal seriously; most nights I just wipe my make up off with a wipe and be done, and even if I do take it all off properly, it's usually just a bit of foaming cleanser to get rid of anything the wipe misses. I've never used an emulsifier before but honestly this product worked so well I think I may have been converted! The only thing it missed was my waterproof mascara but I always struggle to get that off so I don't really feel I can criticize this product too much! My skin felt really smooth after using this as well, even before I'd put moisturiser on!

Urban Decay Vice Lipstick "Morning After" Review

Urban Decay Vice Lipstick in "Morning After" *New favourite lipstick alert*  This lipstick is seriously giving me life right now! I bought it a couple of weeks ago and since then I've been constantly reaching for it. It's part of the Vice lipsticks collection from Urban Decay, which comes in 100 different shades and 6 different finishes (Comfort Matte, Cream, Metallized, Sheer, Sheer Shimmer and Mega Matte) and they're priced at £15. This one is from the Sheer range, it's a light nude shade that's more on the pink side. What I really love about is how buildable it is in terms of colour; one coat and you just get that really subtle, pink sheen to your lips or you can build it up into a super-glossy pink look! The only bad thing I can say about it is that they haven't made this shade in the matte finish because it would be so perf! (I think the closest you'll get in this finish is "Backtalk")

Birchbox Goodies // April 2019

I'm writing this having just watched the latest Game of Thrones episode so bear with - I'm a bit emotionally fragile right now! (If you haven't seen it yet you are in for 90 minutes of OH MY CHRIST) A little bit late with this month's Birchbox post; I've started back at school again so it's been a little bit crazy but I figured I'd get this out while I've still got 2 days of the month left! This month's box is inspired by the healing power of crystals and enhancing your natural glow from within. Now, I don't really believe in crystal healing but I am all about that inner glow (plus they're beautiful to look at) so I was pretty excited by this box design! This month, I received a Benefit POREfessional primer, an ESTATE highlighter, an eye mask from Vitamasques, a Human+Kind moisturiser and an eye cream from Balance Me. ESTATE Cosmetics Dew Me Baked Highlighter in "Afterglow" RRP £10 Ok, so I wasn't really looking forw...

Birchbox Goodies // May 2019

Does anyone else have a major urge to just spend the next few months sitting in the nearest beer garden or is that just me? Summer is well and truly making its return and for this month's Birchbox we're celebrating being able to spread our wings (although I wish those wings were taking me to a beach). In this box, I got a Lord & Berry eyeliner, a toner from Sukin, a Beautaniq mascara, a face sunscreen from Mimitika and a hair mask from Philip Kingsley. Lord & Berry Line/Shade Eye Pencil RRP £13 I'm pretty sure I've received one of these in a previous Birchbox and from what I remember, I liked this product then and I like it now! I don't really use black pencil liner unless I'm doing a dark smokey eye, in which case I'll use it to line my bottom lashline. This one is pretty pigmented and also smudges out really nicely so it ticks all the boxes for what I look for in a product like this. I do think the price tag is a little expensive though, ...
