Birchbox Goodies // June 2019

Well, at least my June Birchbox is giving me some summer vibes because this weather sure isn't! Is a bit of sunshine too much to ask for?

This month, Birchbox has teamed up with Paperchase for their box design and they're encouraging us to embrace some wanderlust and get out on an adventure (weather permitting). Paperchase is definitely my favourite stationary brand and I could easily spend all day browsing their products! This month, I received a Laritzy lip crayon, a Gimme Brow from Benefit, a Rituals body cream, an eye mask from Wander and an amika shampoo. Read on to see what I thought!

Laritzy Lip Stix in "Plum"

RRP £20
I was pretty excited to see another product from Laritzy in this month's box - I got a liquid lipstick from them a couple of months ago and it's honestly one of the best formulas I've ever used! This product is more of a lip crayon with a satin finish and the colour is absolutely stunning. My only criticism is that it really doesn't last very long, which I was quite surprised by because the staying power of my liquid lipstick is insane! It's also not the best if you've got dry lips as it does tend to attach itself to any dry skin. It does work very well as a lip liner though so I've been using it with other lipsticks over the top.
Would I buy again? Honestly, no - I can't really justify spending £20 on something I can't get my full use out of.

Benefit Gimme Brow

RRP £21.50
Another product I was very excited to see: this is easily the best eyebrow gel I've ever used, the spoolie is the perfect size to apply it and it makes your brow hairs stay in place without making them crunchy! I was a bit concerned as they sent me the shade 4.5 when I'm usually a shade 2, so I was a bit worried it would be too dark but actually as long as I use it sparingly and don't build it too much I've been ok!
Would I buy again? Absolutely, but I'd buy my correct shade!

Rituals The Ritual of Karma body cream

RRP £18.50
One day Birchbox will actually send me a body cream that's not full of perfume so I can actually use it properly. *sigh*. I love the Rituals body creams and they smell absolutely divine, but unfortunately, because I've got such sensitive skin I find anything that's very heavily scented just irritates me and does more damage than good. I have used this on the tops of my arms where I get a lot of dry skin but I'm not necessarily going to react to the fragrances and it's done a lovely job of keeping my skin nice and smooth, but honestly, that's the only part of my body I can actually use it!
Would I buy again? Again, I can't justify nearly £20 for a product that I can't get the full use out of, so no.

Wander Beauty Baggage Claim gold eye masks

RRP £20
Am I the only person who thinks this type of eye mask does absolutely nothing? Supposedly, these are brightening and de-puffing but in all honesty, I haven't noticed any kind of difference after using it.
Would I buy again? Nope!

amika Bust Your Brass blonde shampoo

RRP £18
I wasn't really sure if I was going to like this product - I kind of got the impression it was more for hair that's been dyed so I didn't really think it was going to do a lot for me as I'm naturally blonde. I was pretty scared when it came out of the bottle bright purple but it actually made my hair feel really lovely and soft. I don't think I've used it enough to notice a difference in terms of how bright my hair is and to be honest, once the sun finally decides to show its face my hair will go very light anyway so I'm not sure if this is a product I would use.
Would I buy again? Probably not.

Well, that's it for another month! If you'd like to sign up to Birchbox, you can use my link https://www.birchbox.co.uk/invite/BobbisBubble and receive £5 off your first box! 💕

Urban Decay Vice Lipstick "Morning After" Review

Urban Decay Vice Lipstick in "Morning After" *New favourite lipstick alert*  This lipstick is seriously giving me life right now! I bought it a couple of weeks ago and since then I've been constantly reaching for it. It's part of the Vice lipsticks collection from Urban Decay, which comes in 100 different shades and 6 different finishes (Comfort Matte, Cream, Metallized, Sheer, Sheer Shimmer and Mega Matte) and they're priced at £15. This one is from the Sheer range, it's a light nude shade that's more on the pink side. What I really love about is how buildable it is in terms of colour; one coat and you just get that really subtle, pink sheen to your lips or you can build it up into a super-glossy pink look! The only bad thing I can say about it is that they haven't made this shade in the matte finish because it would be so perf! (I think the closest you'll get in this finish is "Backtalk")

The Cherry On Top // Urban Decay Naked Cherry Palette Review

Wow I'm actually sitting down to review something that isn't a Birchbox 😂 I've been meaning to write this post since October when I got this palette, but as usual school and other life stuff have meant it's taken until now to do! RRP £42 This palette originally launched in September as a new instalment of Urban Decay's Naked series. I was really excited by it, as it's very different to all of the other Naked palettes out there and I'm a sucker for anything remotely pink-toned. It retails for £42, making it one of the more expensive palettes in the Naked series, and inside are 12 beautiful berry-toned shades: Hot Spot - a matte ivory shade. I always use these for setting my eyeshadow primer and as a browbone highlight shade. Caution - a neutral matte beige. Bang Bang - a pink shimmer. Feelz - a dusty rose matte shade. Juicy - a peachy pink matte. This is a great transition shade. Turn On - a gorgeous rose-gold metallic shade. Ambitio...

Why I Came Off The Pill // Honesty Time

I wasn't 100% sure if I was going to write about coming off The Pill or not. I personally think that a lot of people, especially women, feel that they can't talk about contraception and the effects it has openly. I recently read a blog by Alex Jones (her Instagram account is @alexgracejones if you'd like to have a look) which pretty much convinced me to write this. As Alex says in her blog, contraception is a conversation I've had with friends so many times, and yet outside of those circles, you don't really hear anyone speak about it. Personally, as a woman, I've always felt it's pretty much been up to me to make sure I don't get pregnant, whether that's taking hormonal contraception or using a condom. It seems odd to me then, that there aren't many women out there talking openly about their contraception, so I think it's time we changed this! I originally went on The Pill when I was 17 because my periods were really irregular and very h...
