Birchbox Goodies // March 2019

Welcome back to the bubble! I've got another Birchbox review here for you and in honour of International Women's Month, Birchbox have created a design that's serving all the boss bitch realness! All the products in this month's box are designed to make a busy life that little bit easier so we can get on with running the world. In this box, I received a Beauty Crop bronzer, an eyebrow gel from Chella, a Generation Clay mask, a Caudalie serum and a Palmer's coconut oil shampoo, as well as a little sample of Charlotte Tilbury's Scent of a Dream. I also randomly received a liquid bronzer/highlighter from a brand called Rouge Bunny Rouge. I'm not sure if this was a mistake because there's nothing about it on the information card, but hey I'm not going to complain about an extra product!

The Beauty Crop Bronzer Compact in "Sardinia Sands"

RRP £8
I was actually really surprised at how much I love this little bronzer! I've always been a huge Benefit Hoola fan, but I think this one might have knocked it off the top spot. I usually find most bronzers are a little bit too orange on my skin, but this one is such a perfect shade for me, it just gives a beautiful subtle glow. It's also way cheaper than the Benefit one, and as much as I'm happy to spend a bit extra on a product I love, I do also love a bargain and this bronzer definitely ticks all the boxes for me!
Would I buy it again? Definitely!

Chella Clear Eyebrow Defining Gel

RRP £15.50
I've tried so many different eyebrow gels over the years and to be honest, I don't really find a lot of difference between them, especially the ones that are a bit pricier. I'm also not really a big fan of clear gels: I prefer one that has a colour as I find they just add a bit more dimension to my brows. I don't mind the formula of this one. Unlike a lot of other gels, it didn't leave my eyebrows feeling really crunchy and it did a good job of keeping my brows in place.
Would I buy it again? No - I prefer a tinted gel and to be honest, it really isn't worth £15!

Generation Clay Ultraviolet Brightening Clay Mask

RRP £28.50
Since I spend most of my days make-up free at the moment (I only really wear it if I'm actually going somewhere) I've been really liking products that will help me achieve that bright, glowy look without having to put loads of make-up on. I'm always a bit sceptical when I see a face mask that has a price tag like this one, as I know the cheaper masks from companies like Lush usually do just as good a job. And yeah, this one really isn't worth nearly £30! Don't get me wrong, my skin felt and looked really nice after I'd used it, but I can't say the results were any different to other more affordable masks that I've tried in the past.
Would I buy it again? No, it's too expensive!

Caudalie Vinosource SOS Thirst Quenching Serum

RRP £29
You know me, as soon as I see a serum that is designed for really dry skin, I'll be all over it! I've tried a couple of Caudalie products before and to be honest, I've never really understood the hype around them as a brand. But Oh. My. God! This stuff is amazing! Like, I genuinely can't imagine not using this product ever again because it's impressed me so much. I've been using this before my moisturiser on the days when I use my Fenty foundation, which is a very matte, very full coverage foundation. As much as I love it, I do find on my dry days it can really stick to the texture on my skin and just look patchy, but ever since I've been using this serum beforehand it's just created this beautiful smooth base! I am in love.
Would I buy again? ABSOLUTELY!

Palmer's Coconut Oil Formula Shampoo

RRP £4.49
I really love Palmer's coconut body moisturiser, so I was quite excited to try this shampoo as I also get quite dry hair, especially on the ends. I have to say, I really think this makes my hair greasy. I think because it's a conditioning shampoo and I always follow with a conditioner (which the tube says you should do anyway) it's almost too much for my hair and it just ends up looking really greasy the next day. I used this before I went out the other evening and had my hair in a half up/half down style and the underneath part of my hair honestly looked like I hadn't washed it! And I always make sure I rinse my conditioner out properly so I just think this product really isn't for me.
Would I buy again? Nope!

Rouge Bunny Rouge Bronzing Glow Liquid

RRP around £50
So this is the random product I received which I think might be a mistake, but I may as well include it anyway! I had to do a quick Google in order to find some information about it, as I had no idea what it was for. I managed to find their website and to be honest, I was quite shocked at how expensive these products are! So a full size of this bronzing liquid is €59, which at the moment works out as about £50. This is absolutely in no way worth the money. Don't get me wrong, it's very pretty but to be honest it really doesn't do anything amazing. I've tried this under my foundation as a bronze glow and on my collarbones, but it really didn't blow me away.
Would I buy it again? Absolutely not.

So that's another Birchbox review done for this month. To be honest, a lot of these products worked quite well, they're just very pricey for what they are. I loved the bronzer and I will definitely be purchasing a full size bottle of the Caudalie serum! Urban Decay Vice Lipstick "Morning After" Review

Urban Decay Vice Lipstick in "Morning After" *New favourite lipstick alert*  This lipstick is seriously giving me life right now! I bought it a couple of weeks ago and since then I've been constantly reaching for it. It's part of the Vice lipsticks collection from Urban Decay, which comes in 100 different shades and 6 different finishes (Comfort Matte, Cream, Metallized, Sheer, Sheer Shimmer and Mega Matte) and they're priced at £15. This one is from the Sheer range, it's a light nude shade that's more on the pink side. What I really love about is how buildable it is in terms of colour; one coat and you just get that really subtle, pink sheen to your lips or you can build it up into a super-glossy pink look! The only bad thing I can say about it is that they haven't made this shade in the matte finish because it would be so perf! (I think the closest you'll get in this finish is "Backtalk")

The Cherry On Top // Urban Decay Naked Cherry Palette Review

Wow I'm actually sitting down to review something that isn't a Birchbox 😂 I've been meaning to write this post since October when I got this palette, but as usual school and other life stuff have meant it's taken until now to do! RRP £42 This palette originally launched in September as a new instalment of Urban Decay's Naked series. I was really excited by it, as it's very different to all of the other Naked palettes out there and I'm a sucker for anything remotely pink-toned. It retails for £42, making it one of the more expensive palettes in the Naked series, and inside are 12 beautiful berry-toned shades: Hot Spot - a matte ivory shade. I always use these for setting my eyeshadow primer and as a browbone highlight shade. Caution - a neutral matte beige. Bang Bang - a pink shimmer. Feelz - a dusty rose matte shade. Juicy - a peachy pink matte. This is a great transition shade. Turn On - a gorgeous rose-gold metallic shade. Ambitio...

Why I Came Off The Pill // Honesty Time

I wasn't 100% sure if I was going to write about coming off The Pill or not. I personally think that a lot of people, especially women, feel that they can't talk about contraception and the effects it has openly. I recently read a blog by Alex Jones (her Instagram account is @alexgracejones if you'd like to have a look) which pretty much convinced me to write this. As Alex says in her blog, contraception is a conversation I've had with friends so many times, and yet outside of those circles, you don't really hear anyone speak about it. Personally, as a woman, I've always felt it's pretty much been up to me to make sure I don't get pregnant, whether that's taking hormonal contraception or using a condom. It seems odd to me then, that there aren't many women out there talking openly about their contraception, so I think it's time we changed this! I originally went on The Pill when I was 17 because my periods were really irregular and very h...
