If Wanderlust Was an Eyeshadow Palette... // Urban Decay Born to Run Palette Review

I think this is probably my last post of 2018, so it seemed fitting to end the year with one of the best purchases I've made! I am honestly so impressed by this palette - it was originally released over the summer and features 24 beautiful shades and a full-size mirror, and I can tell this will definitely be a staple for whenever I travel as it's such a versatile palette. I actually bought this in October with some birthday money but I just haven't had time to sit down and write a blog post unfortunately.

RRP £39.50
The palette is priced at £39.50, which is fairly standard for an Urban Decay eyeshadow palette. You get a really beautiful range of shades, from warm mattes to gorgeous jewel tones, which means you can create a real variety of looks with it:
  • Breakaway - a shimmery ivory colour. I love this as a browbone highlight as it's quite subtle!
  • Stranded - a champagne shimmer.
  • Blaze - a shimmery peachy pink shade with a gorgeous gold shift.
  • Weekender - a neutral matte shade; this is really close to my skin tone so I've just been using this to set my primer.
  • Still Shot - a matte peachy pink shade.
  • Riff - a matte orange/brown shade. This is a really great transition colour for fairer skin tones!
  • Good As Gone - a deep brown shade with a touch of shimmer.
  • Hell Ride - a matte fuschia shade.
  • Baja - a beautiful burnt orange matte colour; I love shades like this for more autumnal looks!
  • Accelerate - a metallic copper shade.
  • Guilt Trip - a deep purple shimmer.
  • Ignite - this is quite similar to Accelerate, but it's got more shimmer and more of a gold shift to it.
  • Smog - a deep bronze shimmer.
  • Wanderlust - a deep forest-green shimmer.
  • Wildheart - one of my favourite shades in the palette, this is a beautiful shimmery fuschia colour.
  • Punk - a deep chocolatey-brown matte shade.
  • Double Life - a metallic rusty shade.
  • Jet - a black shade, it's also got a slight shimmer to it.
  • Drift - a deep shimmery charcoal shade.
  • Radio - a shimmery teal shade.
  • Big Sky - another favourite, a lighter metallic green shade.
All of these shadows are an absolute dream to work with, they're so rich and buttery and they blend out so easily! I genuinely think Urban Decay has some of the best formulas when it comes to eyeshadows, especially the matte shades. I've found the more metallic/shimmer shades work better with either a damp shader brush or a finger, but the payoff is absolutely stunning!

RRP £16.50
As part of the Born to Run collection, Urban Decay also released three new shades of their Vice lipsticks, so as I had a voucher and some Christmas money left, I thought I'd treat myself to one of those as well! This shade is called Ready? and it's a beautiful metallic pinky/red colour. I am a huge fan of the Vice lipsticks and this one definitely does not disappoint - you can use a small amount for a wash of shimmer or build up the colour for a gorgeous sparkly red lip!

Urban Decay Vice Lipstick "Morning After" Review

Urban Decay Vice Lipstick in "Morning After" *New favourite lipstick alert*  This lipstick is seriously giving me life right now! I bought it a couple of weeks ago and since then I've been constantly reaching for it. It's part of the Vice lipsticks collection from Urban Decay, which comes in 100 different shades and 6 different finishes (Comfort Matte, Cream, Metallized, Sheer, Sheer Shimmer and Mega Matte) and they're priced at £15. This one is from the Sheer range, it's a light nude shade that's more on the pink side. What I really love about is how buildable it is in terms of colour; one coat and you just get that really subtle, pink sheen to your lips or you can build it up into a super-glossy pink look! The only bad thing I can say about it is that they haven't made this shade in the matte finish because it would be so perf! (I think the closest you'll get in this finish is "Backtalk")

The Cherry On Top // Urban Decay Naked Cherry Palette Review

Wow I'm actually sitting down to review something that isn't a Birchbox 😂 I've been meaning to write this post since October when I got this palette, but as usual school and other life stuff have meant it's taken until now to do! RRP £42 This palette originally launched in September as a new instalment of Urban Decay's Naked series. I was really excited by it, as it's very different to all of the other Naked palettes out there and I'm a sucker for anything remotely pink-toned. It retails for £42, making it one of the more expensive palettes in the Naked series, and inside are 12 beautiful berry-toned shades: Hot Spot - a matte ivory shade. I always use these for setting my eyeshadow primer and as a browbone highlight shade. Caution - a neutral matte beige. Bang Bang - a pink shimmer. Feelz - a dusty rose matte shade. Juicy - a peachy pink matte. This is a great transition shade. Turn On - a gorgeous rose-gold metallic shade. Ambitio...

Why I Came Off The Pill // Honesty Time

I wasn't 100% sure if I was going to write about coming off The Pill or not. I personally think that a lot of people, especially women, feel that they can't talk about contraception and the effects it has openly. I recently read a blog by Alex Jones (her Instagram account is @alexgracejones if you'd like to have a look) which pretty much convinced me to write this. As Alex says in her blog, contraception is a conversation I've had with friends so many times, and yet outside of those circles, you don't really hear anyone speak about it. Personally, as a woman, I've always felt it's pretty much been up to me to make sure I don't get pregnant, whether that's taking hormonal contraception or using a condom. It seems odd to me then, that there aren't many women out there talking openly about their contraception, so I think it's time we changed this! I originally went on The Pill when I was 17 because my periods were really irregular and very h...
