Birchbox Goodies // December 2018

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas... And I'm definitely in the mood after seeing the design for this month's Birchbox! This is definitely my favourite design yet and the products inside were gorgeous as well. This month, I received a Benefit Galifornia blush, a Rituals body cream, a sheet mask from Oh K!, a Lartizy liquid lipstick and a Percy & Reed hair mask. As a bonus Christmas treat, I also got a comb and two little chocolates from Hotel Chocolat (which obviously didn't last long at all!)

Benefit Cosmetics Galifornia Blush

RRP £25.50
I actually already own this blush - it came as part of my Cheek Parade blush palette and it's definitely a shade I've used a lot! It's a really pretty hot pink shade, and like all of Benefit's powders, it applies really easily! It is quite pigmented so a little goes a long way, but it's a perfect shade for summer if you want a pop of pink on your cheeks!
Would I buy again? Definitely!

Rituals The Ritual of Ayurveda Body Cream

RRP £19.50
I think this is probably the first product from Rituals that I've really really liked, which makes me quite sad as I can't really use it a lot. It smells heavenly but because it's very heavily scented I have to be really careful where I put it unless I want to aggravate my sensitive skin. So far I can safely use it on my arms, which is where I get a lot of dry skin, and it leaves them feeling really lovely and smooth!
Would I buy again? Unfortunately not, but that's nothing against the product!

Oh K! Bubble Sheet Mask

RRP £7.50
This is quite possibly one of the weirdest things I've ever put on my face but I did end up loving the results! When you put it on, the mask starts foaming up which is quite a weird sensation on the skin. I thought it did a great job of cleansing my skin and my face looked radiant after I'd used it. My only criticism is the price - £7.50 is a lot for a mask you can only use once! For that price, I'd expect to be getting something I'll get a lot of product out of!
Would I buy again? A bit too pricey for me, so no!

Laritzy Cosmetics Long Lasting Liquid Lipstick in "Tidal"

RRP £20
Well, I am absolutely in love with this lipstick! Not only is the colour gorgeous, it's also one of the best formulas I've ever used (and I use a LOT of liquid lipstick) It dries down super matte, but the finish is so smooth and comfortable - definitely doesn't dry your lips out like other products! Unfortunately, this is a Canadian brand and Birchbox only stocks two shades at the moment, but I'm praying they'll get more products in as I would love to try some more!
Would I buy again? Definitely!

Percy & Reed Totally TLC Hydrating Mask

RRP £22
I have to say, I wasn't completely blown away by this product, which is a shame because pretty much everything I've tried from this brand has been amazing! My hair is in desperate need of a cut (these split ends are no joke) so I was hoping this mask might have given it a little bit of oomph before I can get to a salon. It definitely feels softer, but usually after a mask I really notice a difference in terms of it being more hydrated and this one just didn't do much! You can use this as a normal conditioner as well, so I think I'm going to continue using it and hope it helps!
Would I buy again? Probably not.

Urban Decay Vice Lipstick "Morning After" Review

Urban Decay Vice Lipstick in "Morning After" *New favourite lipstick alert*  This lipstick is seriously giving me life right now! I bought it a couple of weeks ago and since then I've been constantly reaching for it. It's part of the Vice lipsticks collection from Urban Decay, which comes in 100 different shades and 6 different finishes (Comfort Matte, Cream, Metallized, Sheer, Sheer Shimmer and Mega Matte) and they're priced at £15. This one is from the Sheer range, it's a light nude shade that's more on the pink side. What I really love about is how buildable it is in terms of colour; one coat and you just get that really subtle, pink sheen to your lips or you can build it up into a super-glossy pink look! The only bad thing I can say about it is that they haven't made this shade in the matte finish because it would be so perf! (I think the closest you'll get in this finish is "Backtalk")

The Cherry On Top // Urban Decay Naked Cherry Palette Review

Wow I'm actually sitting down to review something that isn't a Birchbox 😂 I've been meaning to write this post since October when I got this palette, but as usual school and other life stuff have meant it's taken until now to do! RRP £42 This palette originally launched in September as a new instalment of Urban Decay's Naked series. I was really excited by it, as it's very different to all of the other Naked palettes out there and I'm a sucker for anything remotely pink-toned. It retails for £42, making it one of the more expensive palettes in the Naked series, and inside are 12 beautiful berry-toned shades: Hot Spot - a matte ivory shade. I always use these for setting my eyeshadow primer and as a browbone highlight shade. Caution - a neutral matte beige. Bang Bang - a pink shimmer. Feelz - a dusty rose matte shade. Juicy - a peachy pink matte. This is a great transition shade. Turn On - a gorgeous rose-gold metallic shade. Ambitio...

Why I Came Off The Pill // Honesty Time

I wasn't 100% sure if I was going to write about coming off The Pill or not. I personally think that a lot of people, especially women, feel that they can't talk about contraception and the effects it has openly. I recently read a blog by Alex Jones (her Instagram account is @alexgracejones if you'd like to have a look) which pretty much convinced me to write this. As Alex says in her blog, contraception is a conversation I've had with friends so many times, and yet outside of those circles, you don't really hear anyone speak about it. Personally, as a woman, I've always felt it's pretty much been up to me to make sure I don't get pregnant, whether that's taking hormonal contraception or using a condom. It seems odd to me then, that there aren't many women out there talking openly about their contraception, so I think it's time we changed this! I originally went on The Pill when I was 17 because my periods were really irregular and very h...
