Splurge Or Save? // Stila Stay All Day Liner vs Soap & Glory Supercat Skinny Liner

I am back with another Splurge Or Save? post and this time I'm looking at two felt-tip liners! I always struggled with eyeliner when I first started getting into makeup: I found normal liquid liners were too messy and with gel liners, I could never get a neat line and I often found they dried out really quickly. I soon discovered felt-tip eyeliners though and I've never looked back! I've found most of the ones I've tried are really easy to use and enable me to get a neat line which I can then build up into the thickness that I want.

I discovered the Stila Stay All Day liner about 2 years ago and it's definitely my favourite felt-tip liner I've tried so far! That being said, it is £15 so it's more on the expensive side so I wanted to see if I could find a cheaper drugstore dupe - enter the Soap & Glory Supercat Skinny liner! Keep reading to see how these two compare!

Stila Stay All Day Liner

So as I said before, this is hands-down my favourite felt-tip liner I've ever used and probably the best eyeliner in general that I've tried. It retails for £15 and it has a super-fine nib which makes it really easy to get a neat line and you can build it up really easily, depending on the thickness you want. It's also incredibly pigmented and works well over eyeshadows (I've found with some liners putting them over eyeshadow can actually make them dry out). It's also smudge-proof and does exactly what you'd expect from the name: it stays ALL DAY! For me, this eyeliner has been well worth the money and it does last quite a long time, so it's not something I'm having to replace regularly!

Soap & Glory Supercat Skinny Liner

I had really high hopes for this liner! While I was looking for a good dupe for the Stila one, this product kept popping up. It had great reviews on the Boots website and for only £7 it was over half the price of the Stila liner! I'd never used anything from Soap & Glory either so it was also a good chance to try out a new brand. Like the Stila one, it features a really thin nib so getting a precise line was no trouble for me. However, it fades and smudges really quickly, to the point where I was having to carry it around in my bag with me so I could touch it up if I needed to, something I've never had to do with my Stila liner!

Splurge or Save?

For me, this really is a case of you get what you pay for. Although both these liners are excellent in terms of application, the Stila one wins hands down for its staying power and pigmentation!

I hope you found this post useful, please feel free to comment down below if you have any reccomendations for other felt-tip liners or even other eyeliners you think I should try out! 💕

Urban Decay Vice Lipstick "Morning After" Review

Urban Decay Vice Lipstick in "Morning After" *New favourite lipstick alert*  This lipstick is seriously giving me life right now! I bought it a couple of weeks ago and since then I've been constantly reaching for it. It's part of the Vice lipsticks collection from Urban Decay, which comes in 100 different shades and 6 different finishes (Comfort Matte, Cream, Metallized, Sheer, Sheer Shimmer and Mega Matte) and they're priced at £15. This one is from the Sheer range, it's a light nude shade that's more on the pink side. What I really love about is how buildable it is in terms of colour; one coat and you just get that really subtle, pink sheen to your lips or you can build it up into a super-glossy pink look! The only bad thing I can say about it is that they haven't made this shade in the matte finish because it would be so perf! (I think the closest you'll get in this finish is "Backtalk")

Why I Came Off The Pill // Honesty Time

I wasn't 100% sure if I was going to write about coming off The Pill or not. I personally think that a lot of people, especially women, feel that they can't talk about contraception and the effects it has openly. I recently read a blog by Alex Jones (her Instagram account is @alexgracejones if you'd like to have a look) which pretty much convinced me to write this. As Alex says in her blog, contraception is a conversation I've had with friends so many times, and yet outside of those circles, you don't really hear anyone speak about it. Personally, as a woman, I've always felt it's pretty much been up to me to make sure I don't get pregnant, whether that's taking hormonal contraception or using a condom. It seems odd to me then, that there aren't many women out there talking openly about their contraception, so I think it's time we changed this! I originally went on The Pill when I was 17 because my periods were really irregular and very h...

The Cherry On Top // Urban Decay Naked Cherry Palette Review

Wow I'm actually sitting down to review something that isn't a Birchbox 😂 I've been meaning to write this post since October when I got this palette, but as usual school and other life stuff have meant it's taken until now to do! RRP £42 This palette originally launched in September as a new instalment of Urban Decay's Naked series. I was really excited by it, as it's very different to all of the other Naked palettes out there and I'm a sucker for anything remotely pink-toned. It retails for £42, making it one of the more expensive palettes in the Naked series, and inside are 12 beautiful berry-toned shades: Hot Spot - a matte ivory shade. I always use these for setting my eyeshadow primer and as a browbone highlight shade. Caution - a neutral matte beige. Bang Bang - a pink shimmer. Feelz - a dusty rose matte shade. Juicy - a peachy pink matte. This is a great transition shade. Turn On - a gorgeous rose-gold metallic shade. Ambitio...
