Fabulous Fenty // Fenty Beauty Body Lava Review

Well, this blog post almost didn't happen: Rhianna released two shades of the Body Lava - "Who Needs Clothes?", a rose-gold shade and "Brown Sugar", a tan/gold shade - along with the Fairy Bomb glitter pom pom and a kabuki brush and of course, made them limited edition so everyone and their mother was after these! I very nearly missed out on getting this, but thanks to some luck from the make-up gods (and the fact that Fenty's products are so universally flattering) I managed to get my hands on it. It's a tale of dashed hopes and desperation, but it is easily up there with the great classics:

I popped into Harvey Nichols with my boyfriend, looking for a birthday present, and stopped by the Fenty counter to have a look at the new releases. They had both shades of the Body Lava in stock, but Rory convinced me to wait until later in the week when I was getting paid for some work I'd done through the university. The day finally arrived and I excitedly went off to Harvey Nichols, only to find that "Who Needs Clothes?" had sold out in-store and online (Harvey Nicks is the only place in the UK that stocks Fenty). Not to worry, I thought, I'll just get it shipped from America. Alas, no, my card would not work on the American site and I was absolutely gutted! Luckily for me, I decided to go back to the store the next day and see if "Brown Sugar" would work for me, as I'm quite pale and I think this shade was created with deeper skin tones in mind. However, it doesn't leave any kind of tint, just a beautiful, subtle, golden glow! Moral of the story: never let your boyfriend be the voice of reason when it comes to limited edition!

Ok, now that the saga of me actually getting this product is out of the way, let's get into the review! The Body Lava retails at £46, which makes it probably one of the most expensive products in the range, and probably the most expensive thing in my make-up collection. However, when you look at the size of it, and how little you need to get a good glow on, it is well-justified in its price. For £46 you get 90ml (triple the size of the Pro Filt'r foundation which retails at £24) and around two big pumps was more than enough to cover my shoulders and collarbones. This definitely isn't something I'd wear everyday either, so I can 100% see the product lasting me absolutely ages!

This shade gives you a really beautiful golden glow, and I am so excited thinking about how perfect this will be for my holiday in July. It's slightly tacky when you first put it on, but it dries really quickly (you could always blot it with some tissue if it bothered you) and I didn't notice any of the glitter coming off onto my clothes.

This is a really expensive product, and I personally only bought it because I had some extra money coming in - however, like I said before, I think it's worth the money and is something that I'll get the use out of for sure!

Urban Decay Vice Lipstick "Morning After" Review

Urban Decay Vice Lipstick in "Morning After" *New favourite lipstick alert*  This lipstick is seriously giving me life right now! I bought it a couple of weeks ago and since then I've been constantly reaching for it. It's part of the Vice lipsticks collection from Urban Decay, which comes in 100 different shades and 6 different finishes (Comfort Matte, Cream, Metallized, Sheer, Sheer Shimmer and Mega Matte) and they're priced at £15. This one is from the Sheer range, it's a light nude shade that's more on the pink side. What I really love about is how buildable it is in terms of colour; one coat and you just get that really subtle, pink sheen to your lips or you can build it up into a super-glossy pink look! The only bad thing I can say about it is that they haven't made this shade in the matte finish because it would be so perf! (I think the closest you'll get in this finish is "Backtalk")

Why I Came Off The Pill // Honesty Time

I wasn't 100% sure if I was going to write about coming off The Pill or not. I personally think that a lot of people, especially women, feel that they can't talk about contraception and the effects it has openly. I recently read a blog by Alex Jones (her Instagram account is @alexgracejones if you'd like to have a look) which pretty much convinced me to write this. As Alex says in her blog, contraception is a conversation I've had with friends so many times, and yet outside of those circles, you don't really hear anyone speak about it. Personally, as a woman, I've always felt it's pretty much been up to me to make sure I don't get pregnant, whether that's taking hormonal contraception or using a condom. It seems odd to me then, that there aren't many women out there talking openly about their contraception, so I think it's time we changed this! I originally went on The Pill when I was 17 because my periods were really irregular and very h...

The Cherry On Top // Urban Decay Naked Cherry Palette Review

Wow I'm actually sitting down to review something that isn't a Birchbox 😂 I've been meaning to write this post since October when I got this palette, but as usual school and other life stuff have meant it's taken until now to do! RRP £42 This palette originally launched in September as a new instalment of Urban Decay's Naked series. I was really excited by it, as it's very different to all of the other Naked palettes out there and I'm a sucker for anything remotely pink-toned. It retails for £42, making it one of the more expensive palettes in the Naked series, and inside are 12 beautiful berry-toned shades: Hot Spot - a matte ivory shade. I always use these for setting my eyeshadow primer and as a browbone highlight shade. Caution - a neutral matte beige. Bang Bang - a pink shimmer. Feelz - a dusty rose matte shade. Juicy - a peachy pink matte. This is a great transition shade. Turn On - a gorgeous rose-gold metallic shade. Ambitio...
