Fabulous Fenty // Fenty Beauty Buys Review

I mean, it was only a matter of time before Fenty Beauty started appearing on my blog. Rihanna launched this line earlier in the summer, and the world went into meltdown - mostly because her foundation shades were so inclusive, not only for people with darker skin who very rarely find their shade in mainstream beauty lines but she's also catered for people who have albinism. Her range is probably more on the pricier side of things (I'd say around about the same kind of prices as brands like Benefit or Urban Decay) but from what I've tried so far, her products are more than worth the money!

Rihanna is a huge role model for me - her no nonsense, no bullshit attitude is something I think is hugely important and she's one of the few celebrities out their who put their money where their mouth is in terms of social justice. She is a huge champion of diversity (as shown in her ad for Fenty) and she's someone I really admire. If you've followed the blog for a while, you'll know I tend to purchase higher-end make up, so for me to be able to do that and support a brand/person who is redefining beauty standards is pretty cool! So far I've only got my hands on 3 products from the line, but as I've used them more and more I think these are some real staples.

Fenty Beauty Pro Filt'r Foundation

I bought this foundation about a month ago with some birthday money - originally I was looking for more of a medium coverage foundation and I'd heard from reviews that this was medium to full coverage. However, because it's a very matte finish it does have more of full coverage feel to it, but I've found a really good technique if you wanted a more light coverage - I use a really hydrating primer underneath and I've found using a damp beauty blender really helps to sheer it out. I've also used it with a stippling brush for when I'm going out. It lasts really well and you only need a pump and a half to get a good coverage for your face!

Match Stix Shimmer Skinstick in "Confetti"

This highlight was very kindly bought for me by my Auntie Belinda when she and my mum came to visit me in Birmingham - I think out of the powder highlight and the Match Stix, these ones are definitely my favourite. I found the powders to be really chunky and full of glitter which I really hate in a highlight and while this one does have a small amount of glitter in it, it stays exactly where you put it! This one is an iridescent opal colour with a slight lilac colour to it. There's a few other colours I'd like to go and have another look at and I'm keeping my fingers crossed there'll be some more colours released soon!

Stunna Lip Paint in "Uncensored"

Another gift, this time from my lovely mum - honestly I'm praying 24/7 that RiRi brings out more colours in this lip paint, because it is hands down the best liquid lipstick I've ever used. This shade is a universal red which is meant to flatter all skin tones. I'm big on red lipstick anyway but this one is so beautiful! I was a bit unsure about the applicator but it's really easy to use and I get a smooth line every time, even without liner!
If you're considering going out and buying anything from Fenty, I would 100% recommend any of these products - even if they were the only items you bought, I think you'd get a really good basic range. Next on my list is the highlight brush and some lipsticks from her Galaxy collection, and I can't wait to see what she brings out next!

Urban Decay Vice Lipstick "Morning After" Review

Urban Decay Vice Lipstick in "Morning After" *New favourite lipstick alert*  This lipstick is seriously giving me life right now! I bought it a couple of weeks ago and since then I've been constantly reaching for it. It's part of the Vice lipsticks collection from Urban Decay, which comes in 100 different shades and 6 different finishes (Comfort Matte, Cream, Metallized, Sheer, Sheer Shimmer and Mega Matte) and they're priced at £15. This one is from the Sheer range, it's a light nude shade that's more on the pink side. What I really love about is how buildable it is in terms of colour; one coat and you just get that really subtle, pink sheen to your lips or you can build it up into a super-glossy pink look! The only bad thing I can say about it is that they haven't made this shade in the matte finish because it would be so perf! (I think the closest you'll get in this finish is "Backtalk")

The Cherry On Top // Urban Decay Naked Cherry Palette Review

Wow I'm actually sitting down to review something that isn't a Birchbox 😂 I've been meaning to write this post since October when I got this palette, but as usual school and other life stuff have meant it's taken until now to do! RRP £42 This palette originally launched in September as a new instalment of Urban Decay's Naked series. I was really excited by it, as it's very different to all of the other Naked palettes out there and I'm a sucker for anything remotely pink-toned. It retails for £42, making it one of the more expensive palettes in the Naked series, and inside are 12 beautiful berry-toned shades: Hot Spot - a matte ivory shade. I always use these for setting my eyeshadow primer and as a browbone highlight shade. Caution - a neutral matte beige. Bang Bang - a pink shimmer. Feelz - a dusty rose matte shade. Juicy - a peachy pink matte. This is a great transition shade. Turn On - a gorgeous rose-gold metallic shade. Ambitio...

Why I Came Off The Pill // Honesty Time

I wasn't 100% sure if I was going to write about coming off The Pill or not. I personally think that a lot of people, especially women, feel that they can't talk about contraception and the effects it has openly. I recently read a blog by Alex Jones (her Instagram account is @alexgracejones if you'd like to have a look) which pretty much convinced me to write this. As Alex says in her blog, contraception is a conversation I've had with friends so many times, and yet outside of those circles, you don't really hear anyone speak about it. Personally, as a woman, I've always felt it's pretty much been up to me to make sure I don't get pregnant, whether that's taking hormonal contraception or using a condom. It seems odd to me then, that there aren't many women out there talking openly about their contraception, so I think it's time we changed this! I originally went on The Pill when I was 17 because my periods were really irregular and very h...
