Holiday Haul // Duty-Free and Sephora Beauty Buys

Well you couldn't expect me to walk past Duty-Free and then spend four days in a country with a Sephora store on every corner and not come back without buying anything... Personally I think I showed great self-restraint given the situation! A couple of these are products that I've been interested in trying for a while now, so I figured I may as well save a bit of money in Duty-Free and the Sephora buys worked out slightly cheaper in Euros as well, so really I've done myself a favour here (at least that's what I'm telling my mum)

Benefit Cosmetics Hoola Quickie Contour Stick

So this is Benefit's latest product in their Hoola range. I've used their Hoola bronzer before which I love, and since I've fallen out of love with my Nyx contour I've been on the lookout for something to replace it. This is a cream that actually turns into a powder consistency when you apply it. What I really like about this is that you can use it flat or use it on its side to get a more precise line, so it's perfect for nose-contouring and for a more subtle look. I did struggle with blending this out to begin with - I've seen lots of people using beauty blenders and brushes but I found that those either made a bit of a mess or ended up looking quite patchy. Blending it out with my fingers is probably the best technique I've found, as it's easier to control where the product is going on your face! It is a little bit too close to a bronzer colour for me, so I do go over it with a cooler-toned contour powder, so it would be nice to see Benefit bring out a cool-toned version of this!

Benefit Cosmetics They're Real! Tinted Lash Primer

This is another product I've been interested in trying for a while - Sephora had loads of little miniatures so I thought I'd pick this up rather than buying the full-size product. I've used the They're Real! mascara before and while I personally feel like it's not really worth all the hype around it, I do love the way it separates my lashes which makes them look a bit fuller. I've recently started using an eyelash curler so I put this product on after that. I honestly noticed a difference straight away - not only did it hold the curl throughout the day, it was also really easy to put mascara on over the top without my lashes looking clumpy! I definitely will be getting a full-sized version of this!

MAC Cosmetics Lipglass in "Morange"

I love orange lipgloss, especially in the summer. I've been running low on the Nyx Buttergloss so I thought I'd have a snoop around Duty-Free and see what they had. I've never used this particular product before but I think it's fair to say I will never be going back to normal lipgloss ever again after buying this! The colour pay-off is AMAZING - you literally only need one coat to get a beautiful pop of colour and not only that but it feels really soft and nourishing at the same time!

Kat Von D Tattoo Liner

Yep, I've gone back to felt-tip liners after a few months of just using a liquid one. I honestly think that they're just much easier to use and you get a much more precise line than you do with a liquid. This particular liner is a bit of a cult favourite and while I really like it I do think that the Stila one I've used in the past is a little better as it's slightly more pigmented than this one. That being said, the Stila one does run out quite quickly so we'll see if this has a longer life! I do like how precise this one is so if it ends up lasting longer then I'll definitely have to change my allegiance!

Sephora Matte Cream Lip Stain in Shade 13

Honestly where has Sephora been all my life? Like we're seriously deprived here in England! Obviously I've never used a Sephora product before but I have heard some good things about their own products from some of the American beauty bloggers/vloggers I follow, so I decided to pick up this lipstick as it's more of an everyday shade for me. It easily competes with some of the more expensive matte lip creams I've tried and it is super pigmented and lasts really well! Kind of wishing I'd picked up a few more now but there we go. I'm officially starting the petition for Sephora to finally open some UK stores!

Urban Decay Vice Lipstick "Morning After" Review

Urban Decay Vice Lipstick in "Morning After" *New favourite lipstick alert*  This lipstick is seriously giving me life right now! I bought it a couple of weeks ago and since then I've been constantly reaching for it. It's part of the Vice lipsticks collection from Urban Decay, which comes in 100 different shades and 6 different finishes (Comfort Matte, Cream, Metallized, Sheer, Sheer Shimmer and Mega Matte) and they're priced at £15. This one is from the Sheer range, it's a light nude shade that's more on the pink side. What I really love about is how buildable it is in terms of colour; one coat and you just get that really subtle, pink sheen to your lips or you can build it up into a super-glossy pink look! The only bad thing I can say about it is that they haven't made this shade in the matte finish because it would be so perf! (I think the closest you'll get in this finish is "Backtalk")

The Cherry On Top // Urban Decay Naked Cherry Palette Review

Wow I'm actually sitting down to review something that isn't a Birchbox 😂 I've been meaning to write this post since October when I got this palette, but as usual school and other life stuff have meant it's taken until now to do! RRP £42 This palette originally launched in September as a new instalment of Urban Decay's Naked series. I was really excited by it, as it's very different to all of the other Naked palettes out there and I'm a sucker for anything remotely pink-toned. It retails for £42, making it one of the more expensive palettes in the Naked series, and inside are 12 beautiful berry-toned shades: Hot Spot - a matte ivory shade. I always use these for setting my eyeshadow primer and as a browbone highlight shade. Caution - a neutral matte beige. Bang Bang - a pink shimmer. Feelz - a dusty rose matte shade. Juicy - a peachy pink matte. This is a great transition shade. Turn On - a gorgeous rose-gold metallic shade. Ambitio...

Why I Came Off The Pill // Honesty Time

I wasn't 100% sure if I was going to write about coming off The Pill or not. I personally think that a lot of people, especially women, feel that they can't talk about contraception and the effects it has openly. I recently read a blog by Alex Jones (her Instagram account is @alexgracejones if you'd like to have a look) which pretty much convinced me to write this. As Alex says in her blog, contraception is a conversation I've had with friends so many times, and yet outside of those circles, you don't really hear anyone speak about it. Personally, as a woman, I've always felt it's pretty much been up to me to make sure I don't get pregnant, whether that's taking hormonal contraception or using a condom. It seems odd to me then, that there aren't many women out there talking openly about their contraception, so I think it's time we changed this! I originally went on The Pill when I was 17 because my periods were really irregular and very h...
