Feeling Tantastic // St Moriz Fast Tan Mist and No.7 Naturally Sunkissed Gradual Facial Tan

Well summer is well and truly here (I know the weather at the moment would have you thinking otherwise). I think everyone is a little bit tentative about getting their legs out for the first time - months of hybernation in the safe comfort of skinny jeans and tights has rendered mine resembling milk bottles. I'm a very pale person anyway and I do try and avoid staying out in the sun too much; I'm not very good in the heat and I tend to go boiled lobster rather than golden goddess if I sit in it for too long, even with SPF 1000000 on. I'm pretty fed up of resembling Casper the Friendly Ghost to be honest, so lately I've been very tempted to try self-tanning. I was pretty hesitant at first - knowing my luck I would probably end up looking like a tangerine - but was finally swayed when my assistant manager came into work looking beautiful and glowy after using a St Moritz tanning mist. I thought I would give it a go and so I went and had a look in Boots to see what they had. First of all, I was really surprised at the number of options you have for self-tan nowadays; whenever I think of fake tan I always think of thick, orange mousses that just leave you looking like a streaky mess, and although there are still mousses around, a lot of companies have brought out mists, lotions and even in-shower tanning products. I decided to stick to what I knew and went for the St Moritz Fast Tan mist and since there was a 3 for 2 offer on, I also picked up the No.7 Naturally Sunkissed Gradual Facial Tan and a Boots' own brand tanning mitt as the mist said to use one to rub it in. I think the whole lot came to about £21 in the offer, which I think is pretty reasonable given the quality of what I've bought! Being the really organised person that I am, I forgot to take before and after pictures of these so you'll just have to take my word on this particular post!

St Moriz Fast Tan Mist

I'm pretty blown away with how easy this was to use! I would definitely recommend using this while standing in the bath or shower, as it does go all over the place and at least tiles are easy to wipe down! I would also say to get an old towel to stand on as the bottom of my feet ended up with a lot of product on them and you don't really want to walk that into your carpet! All you do with this is exfoliate your whole body and moisturise your knees, elbows and heels (I would give it 10 minutes or so to sink into your skin), spray it onto your skin and then use a tanning mitt to blend it in using circular motions. The mitt itself was really nice to use, especially given it was only about £3. You then leave the tan on for 1-6 hours, depending on how deep you want your tan to be. I left mine on for about an hour before I rinsed it off in the shower as I didn't want it to be too dark. I think next time I might leave it for another half an hour as the colour didn't take to my legs as well as I'd have liked. One thing I will say about this is that it does then develop a lot after you've rinsed it off; when I first showered it didn't really look like it had done much but when I woke up the next day you could really see the difference! I had a couple of patches that hadn't blended all that well, but I think that's more down to my application rather than the product itself. It's also lasted really well - it's been a week since I applied it and although the colour has faded a lot, you can still see a bit of tan there so I'm really happy with this product!

No.7 Naturally Sunkissed Gradual Facial Tan

As I didn't really want to go spraying the mist onto my face, I had a quick look in Boots to see if they had any tanning products for your face. This caught my eye as I've used gradual tan moisturisers on my body before and I like the fact that they don't give you too much of an intense colour. I started using this about 3 days before I actually applied the fake tan so it could have a chance to develop. I have to say, I haven't seen a huge amount of difference in regards to my face being more tanned. However, as a moisturiser it is such a lovely product - my skin feels absolutely amazing after using this so I think I will just keep this product as a summer moisturiser as it feels so good!

Urban Decay Vice Lipstick "Morning After" Review

Urban Decay Vice Lipstick in "Morning After" *New favourite lipstick alert*  This lipstick is seriously giving me life right now! I bought it a couple of weeks ago and since then I've been constantly reaching for it. It's part of the Vice lipsticks collection from Urban Decay, which comes in 100 different shades and 6 different finishes (Comfort Matte, Cream, Metallized, Sheer, Sheer Shimmer and Mega Matte) and they're priced at £15. This one is from the Sheer range, it's a light nude shade that's more on the pink side. What I really love about is how buildable it is in terms of colour; one coat and you just get that really subtle, pink sheen to your lips or you can build it up into a super-glossy pink look! The only bad thing I can say about it is that they haven't made this shade in the matte finish because it would be so perf! (I think the closest you'll get in this finish is "Backtalk")

Why I Came Off The Pill // Honesty Time

I wasn't 100% sure if I was going to write about coming off The Pill or not. I personally think that a lot of people, especially women, feel that they can't talk about contraception and the effects it has openly. I recently read a blog by Alex Jones (her Instagram account is @alexgracejones if you'd like to have a look) which pretty much convinced me to write this. As Alex says in her blog, contraception is a conversation I've had with friends so many times, and yet outside of those circles, you don't really hear anyone speak about it. Personally, as a woman, I've always felt it's pretty much been up to me to make sure I don't get pregnant, whether that's taking hormonal contraception or using a condom. It seems odd to me then, that there aren't many women out there talking openly about their contraception, so I think it's time we changed this! I originally went on The Pill when I was 17 because my periods were really irregular and very h...

The Cherry On Top // Urban Decay Naked Cherry Palette Review

Wow I'm actually sitting down to review something that isn't a Birchbox 😂 I've been meaning to write this post since October when I got this palette, but as usual school and other life stuff have meant it's taken until now to do! RRP £42 This palette originally launched in September as a new instalment of Urban Decay's Naked series. I was really excited by it, as it's very different to all of the other Naked palettes out there and I'm a sucker for anything remotely pink-toned. It retails for £42, making it one of the more expensive palettes in the Naked series, and inside are 12 beautiful berry-toned shades: Hot Spot - a matte ivory shade. I always use these for setting my eyeshadow primer and as a browbone highlight shade. Caution - a neutral matte beige. Bang Bang - a pink shimmer. Feelz - a dusty rose matte shade. Juicy - a peachy pink matte. This is a great transition shade. Turn On - a gorgeous rose-gold metallic shade. Ambitio...
